He said the Rishi Ganga project at Reni village in Chamoli could be damaged due to heavy rains and floods. The low-lying areas of Alaknanda are also expected to be flooded. Bhagirathi's path has been blocked by taking precautionary measures. That is why Srinagar and Rishikesh dams have been emptied.


The relief commissioner has already issued a notice to all the district magistrates on 'disaster alert'. According to the notice, the avalanche caused the collapse. Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah has already called Tribendra Singh Rawat to inquire into the situation. Talked to the DGs of ITBP and NDRF. Attempts are being made to rescue the victims of the disaster through wartime activities, according to the Union Home Ministry.
